What the French Ministry of Culture records

Château situé sur une ancienne motte féodale, défense avancée de Châteaudun. Du château primitif restent l'emprise, les fossés et deux bâtiments de la basse-cour (grange et petite longère). Edification du château neuf entre 1610 et 1614. Edifice en pierre et briques, se composant aujourd'hui d'un corps central et d'un pavillon saillant. Autrefois, la plateforme d'implantation était entourée de fossés dont il ne reste que celui sur la façade principale. Des travaux ont été réalisés en 1855-1869, touchant la distribution intérieure. L'escalier monumental a conservé son emplacement, ainsi que le niveau semi-enterré des offices.
