The château des Bordes is a small fifteenth-century fortress typical of the Bourbonnais region. Its main feature is a four-storey keep accessible by a spiral staircase housed in an octagonal turret. Later buildings were added on either side, forming two wings that frame a courtyard; two towers mark their ends, one containing a chapel, the other a former dovecote. The fifteenth-century fireplaces were decorated in the seventeenth century with painted woodwork.
