Edifié au 14e siècle, le château montre encore dans son plan le tracé de la forteresse médiévale dont il ne reste plus qu'une tour ronde à l'angle nord. L'édifice a entièrement été remanié aux 17e et 18e siècles. Ses façades sont percées de baies composées avec des chaînages en pierre, lucarnes et portes. La façade de l'orangerie, aménagée sous la première terrasse, présente une architecture de bossages. Ce château constitue un ensemble remarquable, aussi bien par son aspect architectural que par ses décors intérieurs et ses jardins tranformés au 19e siècle par Edouard André, paysagiste de renom.
