Château de Menetou-Salon stands in Menetou-Salon (Cher), in the Centre-Val de Loire region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: fourth quarter of the 19th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

What the French Ministry of Culture records

La seigneurie est mentionnée pour la première fois au 11e siècle. Une forteresse dut être élever au 13e ou 14e siècle, à l'emplacement du château actuel. Confisquée et démembrée à la Révolution, la terre de Menetou fut reconstituée sous la Restauration. Le château fut reconstruit dans le style néo-gothique par l'architecte parisien Paul-Ernest Sanson, de 1884 à 1890. Cette campagne toucha surtout les élévations sud et est. Les parties ouest et nord conservèrent un aspect classique. L'architecte s'inspira de l'hôtel Jacques Coeur à Bourges. Cette architecture pastiche présente un décor sculpté dû à Antoine Margotin auquel s'ajoutent les éléments conservés de l'ancien château.
