The château de Maupas stands at Morogues, in the Berry region, on a site held since the 13th century by the Sully family. The main building and its two towers date from a 15th century reconstruction, while the wings and the present decoration result from work carried out in the 18th and especially the 19th century, in a neo-Gothic spirit. Visitors can see a monumental stone staircase, whose stairwell displays a collection of antique faience plates gathered by the Agard de Maupas family, who still own the estate today.

Most of the estate as well as the French formal gardens are accessible to people with reduced mobility. Most of the visit on the ground floor is possible. The Duchess of Berry's bedroom (1st floor) is only accessible via the Escalier d'Honneur. Direct car access to the boutique reception is allowed. Reduced rate for PMR and accompanying person.
