Nothing remains of the 18th-century château built for the princesse des Ursins and later transformed by the duc de Choiseul, torn down before 1830. What can be visited today is the park and its pagoda, standing 44 metres tall and built between 1775 and 1778 by the architect Le Camus, the sole survivor of an Anglo-Chinese garden once likened to Versailles. Visitors find a crescent-shaped pool, a long tree-lined canal and traces of a domain designed as much for farming as for the gilded exile of a disgraced royal minister.
