The Château de Mariéville stands in Bonneuil-Matours, in the Vienne department, between Poitiers and Châtellerault. Built in 1855 to designs by the architect Lubac, it follows a Renaissance-inspired style, with a rectangular plan flanked by four corner turrets and façades covered in dense carved ornament: scrollwork, shells, masks, fruit and animals. Inside, the reception rooms retain painted ceilings by the painter Lachaise. A model farm was added to the estate in 1874.
