Château de Mareuil stands in Aÿ-Champagne (Marne), in the Grand Est region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 18th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.
Built between 1771 and 1774 by architects Chevotet and Chaussard, Mareuil château exemplifies 18th-century Champagne classicism. Constructed in brick with refined details, it was owned by Philippe d'Orléans from 1788 to 1792. The residence preserves its period interiors: wrought-iron staircase, wooden panelling, marble fireplaces. It stands within a substantial estate completed by imposing U-shaped outbuildings, two enclosed vegetable gardens and their structures.
