The Château de Boursault stands near Épernay, in the vineyards of the Marne, a Renaissance-style pastiche built in the mid-19th century for the widow Clicquot. Constructed between 1842 and 1848 by architect Arveuf-Fransquin, it was given by the famous champagne merchant to her daughter and granddaughter, as an inscription on its façade still recalls. The estate later passed to the Duchesse d'Uzès, great-granddaughter of the widow Clicquot, who spent part of her childhood there. The surrounding vineyard still produces a champagne bearing the château's name.
