To make a day of it

Château de la Marquetterie stands in Pierry (Marne), in the Grand Est region of France. No visits are on record for this building.

In Pierry, near Épernay, the château de la Marquetterie takes its name from the surrounding vineyard, planted on the hillside. Built from 1734 onward, it once belonged to the writer Jacques Cazotte, who hosted Voltaire there, before passing to the Taittinger family in 1932. The site also has a military past, as General de Castelnau set up his headquarters there in 1915.
