Le château a été construit au 18e siècle à l'exception du pavillon nord, dont le gros oeuvre est le vestige d'un bâtiment antérieur. Il est composé d'un corps central et de deux pavillons latéraux symétriques. Bien conservé, il présente un décor sculpté (pots à feu, motifs floraux, armoiries martelées) sur la porte des élévations ouest et est. Ce château est considéré comme l'un des plus représentatifs des constructions du milieu du 18e siècle. Son intérêt historique et architectural est renforcé par la datation précise de l'édifice, rendue possible grâce au chronogramme présenta dans l'escalier et aux archives relatives à la construction de la chapelle
