Clermont-Tonnerre Castle, located between Bertangles and Poulainville, is a complex architectural ensemble spanning four centuries of history. An original medieval fortress on this site was partially destroyed by fire in 1597. The present mansion, built between 1730 and 1734 in the Regency style, forms the heart of the estate. Authorship of the plans is sometimes attributed to Germain Boffrand. The domain comprises a wooded park, farm buildings arranged around a courtyard, and a period garden enclosed by an 18th-century gate designed by Jean-Baptiste Veyren.
