Built at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries on the site of a medieval farm, the château de Prouzel stands in the Somme department amid a twelve hectare park overlooking the Selle valley. Its classical façade, with a central projecting section flanked by two recessed wings, hides panelling and stucco work inside attributed to Jacques Rousseau. The estate passed down through one family for generations before reaching, by marriage, General de Lamoricière, a war minister under the Second Republic.
