On the Picardy coast, at the edge of the Somme department, Regnière-Écluse castle stands within an estate that has belonged to a single family since the eleventh century. Its present neo-Gothic appearance, with its turrets and grand staircase carved by the Duthoit brothers, dates from the nineteenth century, when Count d'Hinnisdal had the building reshaped and a large landscaped park laid out. The estate, planted with nearly 140,000 trees and crossed by the Maye river, unfolds in long vistas from which the castle can be seen from almost every angle. The site has been used as a filming location, including for an episode of Agatha Christie's Petits Meurtres and the film Murder Party.
