To make a day of it

Château de Couin stands in Couin (Pas-de-Calais), in the Hauts-de-France region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: second quarter of the 18th century). Adult admission costs 10.5 EUR. Its opening hours and prices were verified at the source on October 22, 2026.

The château de Couin stands on the edge of the Ternois area in the Pas-de-Calais, a Louis XV style residence built between 1745 and 1749 for the Landas family. Its façade of white Artois stone, set on a brick base, still bears the date 1748 carved into the pediment. Around the building lies a six and a half hectare English style park, once listed for its landscape interest though now partly left to grow wild. Inside, traces remain of the nineteenth century alterations made by the Louvencourt family, as well as of the building's use as a British medical headquarters during the First World War.
