The château de Bonnemare stands at Radepont, in the Eure department, on the site of a medieval manor said to have once been home to Raoul de Bonnemare, a figure from Marie de France's lay of the Two Lovers. Built at the end of the 16th century for Nicolas Le Conte, lord of Draqueville and a counsellor at the Parliament of Normandy, the estate combines a main residence, a gatehouse and a Greek-cross chapel inspired by Philibert Delorme's style. The side turrets still have their original timber framework, a rare surviving example of this craftsmanship, while the outbuildings, barn, stables and a monumental cider press, date from the 17th and 18th centuries.
