To make a day of it

Château Boutier stands in Duravel (Lot), in the Occitanie region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument. The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

In Duravel, in the Lot department, Château Boutier stands on the site of the town's former ramparts, still traceable in the garden wall. Built from the late 16th century onward by a wealthy Protestant merchant family, it took shape through the assembly of several buildings acquired from the local priory, which explains the irregular openings on its facades. The main house is arranged around a central stair tower, with a wing set at a right angle to the west, opening onto a large enclosed garden.
