Forteresse de Largoët stands in Elven (Morbihan), in the Bretagne region of France. At Elven, in the Morbihan, the ruined towers of Largoët stand beside a lake, set apart from the village. The site is marked by its octagonal keep, among the tallest in France, where successive floors, spiral staircases and a chapel hollowed into the thick walls can still be made out. Visitors come for the scale of the structure, and for the story of young Henry Tudor, held prisoner here before becoming king of England. The wooded park surrounding the ruins extends the visit beyond the stonework.
