To make a day of it

Château de Comper stands in Concoret (Morbihan), in the Bretagne region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: fourth quarter of the 14th century, 17th century, second half of the 19th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Near the forest of Paimpont, in the commune of Concoret, Comper castle stands on a defensive site built around a large lake. The current structures date mostly from the late 14th century, remnants of a fortress reshaped over time and held successively by several noble Breton families, including the Laval and Rieux lines. The site bears the marks of a turbulent past, having been dismantled on the order of King Henri IV and later burned during the French Revolution.
