Le château est composé d’un ensemble de bâtiments construits entre le milieu du 17ème siècle et la toute fin du 19ème siècle. Centre protestant durant les guerres de la Ligue, le manoir médiéval est transformé en une longue bâtisse très sobre où le pan de bois et la terre sont largement utilisés. Un ensemble de communs datant des 17ème et 19ème siècles ainsi qu’une chapelle d’époque Louis XIV complètent ce programme architectural. Cet édifice illustre l’adaptation d’un domaine noble aux évolutions de son temps et aux nouvelles manières de s’approprier l’espace et l’habitat.
