In Bréal-sous-Montfort, the château du Molant is an eighteenth-century ensemble that has survived largely unchanged since it was built. Constructed around 1774-1775 for the du Boberil family to designs by Louis de Brilhac, it combines a rectangular main house with symmetrical façades, a two-turreted chapel and an orangery. Inside, a wrought-iron staircase dated 1786 remains in place, and the surrounding park, avenues and woodland have also kept much of their original character.
