Near the village of Iffendic, the ruined castle of Boutavent stands on a rocky spur within the Paimpont forest, beside a pond bearing the same name. Once held by the lords of Montfort between the 13th and 14th centuries, the site still reveals the layout of an upper and lower courtyard divided by a deep ditch. Excavations carried out since 2006 have uncovered a gate tower, a flanking tower, and various pieces of medieval pottery and tile.
