En 1691, Quintin est érigé en duché. Le château ducal est une construction inachevée datant de 1775. Quintin reprend le type du quadrilatère flanqué de pavillons en décrochement. Du château, ne subsiste qu'un double pavillon sur lequel s'articulent les soubassements de deux corps de bâtiment en retour d'équerre et les soubassements des autres pavillons. C'est une énorme construction d'angle avec murs de soutènement inclinés, ouverte de fenêtres et ornée de décrochés. Le soubassement, très épais, devait soutenir une construction dont seul l'angle a été terminé. Le château présente deux avant-corps peu avancés à l'ouest, et une ajoute de trois ouvertures au sud. Une longue aile de dépendances se soude au nord-ouest, commençant par un pavillon de tête à porte au fronton courbe, formant deux angles en retour.
