To make a day of it

Château de Trédion stands in Trédion (Morbihan), in the Bretagne region of France. The building is listed as a historic monument. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

In Trédion, in the Morbihan region, this château grows out of a manor built in the 14th century for the dukes of Brittany, standing at the edge of forests once prized for hunting. Over the centuries it passed through the hands of notable families, from the Malestroit to a distant relative of the famous minister Fouquet, and welcomed two royal guests: François I stayed one night here in 1518, and Catherine de Médicis spent several weeks there in 1570. It was in the 19th century that the manor took on its present château appearance, set within landscaped grounds featuring an artificial river, a waterfall and a pond.
