Schloss Weilerbach stands in Bollendorf, in the Eifel region, set within a 25-hectare estate that includes a French-style garden. Built between 1777 and 1780 for the Abbey of Echternach, it served as a summer residence for the abbots and as the administrative seat of the nearby Weilerbach ironworks. Badly damaged during the Battle of the Bulge in 1944-1945, the building was restored to its baroque appearance in works beginning in 1987. Today it is mainly the grounds and garden that can be visited, since the interior is used for private purposes and occasional cultural events.
