To make a day of it

Burg Bollendorf stands in Bollendorf (Eifelkreis Bitburg-Prüm), in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. No visits are on record for this building.

Bollendorf Castle stands on a rocky outcrop above the Sauer valley in Rhineland-Palatinate, on the site of a former Roman fortification. For centuries it served as the seat of a subordinate provostry belonging to the Abbey of Echternach, and it still preserves a medieval ring wall along with the remains of a round tower with cross-shaped arrow slits. Building work in the 17th and 18th centuries turned the manor house into a baroque residence, adding a spiral staircase within one corner tower and a portal dated 1776. The property is privately owned today and houses a hotel and restaurant.
