To make a day of it
Burg Longuich stands in Longuich (Landkreis Trier-Saarburg), in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Burg Longuich, also known as the Alte Burg, stands at the corner of Maximinstraße and Burgstraße in the village of Longuich. Built as a fortified residence by the knight Platt von Longuich, it was strengthened at the end of the 15th century with corner turrets and a covered walkway in the late Gothic style. Its western facade still retains the room layout of 1496, while the building took on its present form after one storey was removed in 1790. It remains a rare surviving example of rural noble fortified houses from the Middle Ages.
