To make a day of it
Schloss Lieser stands in Bernkastel-Kues (Landkreis Bernkastel-Wittlich), in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
Schloss Lieser stands on the bank of the Moselle, facing Mülheim, in the wine village that bears its name near Bernkastel-Kues. Built in the late 19th century for the family of the industrialist Eduard Puricelli, it was enlarged around the turn of the century by his son-in-law Clemens von Schorlemer-Lieser, who several times hosted Emperor Wilhelm II there. The building combines two construction phases, a Neo-Renaissance wing and an Art Nouveau wing, distinguishable mainly through facade details despite a shared choice of materials. After decades of varied use, the building now houses a hotel set within its former reception rooms.
