Jagdschloss Walkenried stands in Walkenried (Landkreis Göttingen), in Lower Saxony, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Recorded dating: 18th century. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
The Jagdschloss Walkenried stands at the southern edge of the abbey village of Walkenried, at the foot of the southern Harz mountains. A baroque building from the 18th century, it is one of the few surviving hunting lodges designed by architect Hermann Korb for the house of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. Its square plan and pyramidal roof show an unusual restraint for this architect, who left aside the pilasters typical of his other work. Inside, the wood panelling of the upper floor, finished around 1730, has survived to this day.
