The Ilburg consists of the sparse remains of a medieval hilltop castle above Ilfeld, in the northern part of the municipality of Harztor in Thuringia. Only scant, mostly overgrown wall and foundation fragments survive today. Local tradition holds that it was built around 1150 by Elgerus de Bilstein, before being given up some decades later in favour of the nearby Burg Hohnstein. The site is essentially an unimproved ruin set in woodland.
