Schloss Stolberg stands in Südharz (Landkreis Mansfeld-Südharz), in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. The building is a listed Baudenkmal. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.
A steep hill flanked on three sides gives Stolberg Castle its commanding position over the Harz settlement below it. The keep, circular in form, traces its origins to approximately 1200, whereas most of the surrounding wings emerged from Renaissance construction work spanning 1539 to 1547; around 1700, further changes converted the former defensive structures into garden areas. Schinkel's Red Room and the Classicist Great Reception Room rank among the building's notable features. Nowadays the complex serves multiple purposes, functioning as a museum, showcasing a renovated terraced garden and operating as a reception venue for visitors.
