Château de Wineck stands in Katzenthal (Haut-Rhin), in the Grand Est region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 13th century, 14th century). Admission is free. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Perched on a hill above Katzenthal, in the Alsatian vineyards, the ruins of Wineck Castle occupy the end of a rocky spur cut off from the rest of the summit by a ditch carved into the rock. Built around 1200, the site retains a square stone keep, raised twice over time, the second phase marked by a distinctive sandstone banding. Unlike most Alsatian keeps built purely for defence, this one appears to have been lived in, as suggested by traces of latrines.
