Alsace castles in 2 days
2 days · 6 châteaux · 136 km
The Vosges castle road, from Romanesque ruins to Haut-Kœnigsbourg.
Alsace has the highest density of medieval castles in France, almost all perched along the Vosges ridge and almost all in ruins: which here is no drawback: you climb to them on foot, and the view repays the climb. Two days cover the essentials without spending the trip in the car.

The stops on the following days. The full plan, with distances, goes out by email.
The order of stops is chained nearest-first from the starting town, and distances are as the crow flies: allow a third more by road. Only châteaux whose opening to the public we know are included.
