Le château remonte au moins au 15e siècle. De 1675 à 1812, il appartient à une famille de magistrats et de parlementaires, les Boisgauthier, qui le met au goût du jour vers 1700 (en conservant l'oriel de 1562). Château sérieusement endommagé en 1944-1945 et reconstruit à l'identique.
