What the French Ministry of Culture records

Edifié au 17e siècle à l'emplacement d'une forteresse plus ancienne, remontant au 13e siècle, le château a été modifié au cours du 18e par l'agrandissement des baies. Seule l'aile des communs a conservé ses proportions d'origine. Le château se compose d'un corps de bâtiment allongé avec deux petites ailes en retour sur le côté cour. Deux tours circulaires encadrent le corps de logis principal, témoignant de l'ancienne destination défensive de l'édifice. A l'intérieur, la chambre d'Hercule conserve une cheminée en bois et des boiseries. Le grand salon est entièrement recouvert de boiseries dans un style rappelant celui du 18e siècle. A l'est, une vaste terrasse est plantée d'un jardin créé au début du 20e siècle, inspiré du goût italien. Ce bâtiment présente une forme d'habitation rurale dont il est rare de trouver des exemples aussi bien conservés.
