The château de Brignat stands east of Domérat, in the Allier department, close to the boundary with Montluçon. Rebuilt between 1856 and 1859 by the Guilhomet family after an earlier house burned down, it takes the form of a large manor house topped with a Mansard roof pierced by stone dormer windows. The surrounding estate now belongs to the town of Montluçon and operates as a children's day centre, which limits public access.
