The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

What the French Ministry of Culture records

Bâti à la fin du 15e siècle ou au début du 16e. La marquise de Montespan y a séjourné. Le château est vendu comme bien national à la Révolution. Construit sur un éperon, l'édifice domine la vallée de la Vienne et le Confolentais. Edifice en équerre avec, dans l'angle intérieur, une tour comportant un escalier à vis. Porte de la tour surmontée d'un arc en accolade avec écu. La partie gauche des bâtiments a peu été remaniée depuis l'origine et conservé fenêtres à meneaux, cheminées, plafonds à poutres peintes. Une pièce conserve des peintures murales sans doute du 16e siècle. La partie droite des bâtiments a été remaniée au 17e siècle. La chambre du duc de Vivonne conserve son alcôve avec baldaquin ayant conservé ses peintures d'époque. Cave voûtée sous la partie nord. La chapelle castrale a disparu.
