What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château fut construit contre les remparts de la ville, probablement au début du 16e siècle. L'édifice est enfin un logis noble avec une tourelle d'escalier. Le corps de logis quadrangulaire est flanqué par une tour ronde de l'ancien rempart, et par une tourelle d'escalier polygonale. La tourelle présente des percements de style médiéval. La porte à chambranles moulurés sur bases prismatiques est couverte d'un arc en tiers-point délimitant un tympan de pierre autrefois timbré d'un blason. Les fenêtres ont également des chambranles moulurés. La façade est percée de trois travées de fenêtres du 17e siècle. Les intérieurs ont été détruits en presque totalité.
