The château du Bosquet stands in Saint-Martin-d'Ardèche, at the southern edge of the Ardèche département. Built in the early 16th century as a summer residence for the bishops of Viviers, it was later reshaped into a Renaissance mansion by the baron of Aiguèze. Its square layout, two round corner towers, and pentagonal tower with a spiral staircase make it an early example of Italian-inspired architecture reaching the Rhône valley.
