To make a day of it

Château de Crussol stands in Saint-Péray (Ardèche), in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 12th century, 16th century). Adult admission costs 6 EUR. Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Set on a limestone spur above the Rhône valley, the Château de Crussol has overlooked the town of Saint-Péray since the 12th century, directly across from Valence in the Ardèche. Much of the structure now stands in ruins, but visitors can still walk among the remains and take in the sweeping view over the valley. Plan on roughly two hours for the visit, including the climb up.
