To make a day of it

Château de Saint-Baslemont stands in Saint-Baslemont (Vosges), in the Grand Est region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 16th century, 17th century). Its opening hours and prices have not been verified at the source yet.

Overlooking the village of Saint-Baslemont in the Vosges, this castle combines medieval remains with later classical-era alterations. Two round towers from the 14th century, still showing gun loops and arrow slits on their southern side, flank a main residence reworked at the end of the 17th century. Visitors find an L-shaped layout, a courtyard enclosed by an 18th-century wrought-iron gate under a half-moon gateway, and vaulted rooms with medieval storage pits and dungeons.
