To make a day of it

Château de Lichecourt stands in Relanges (Vosges), in the Grand Est region of France. The building is registered as a historic monument (dating recorded in the Mérimée database: 15th century, 16th century, 18th century). The building is privately owned and no visits are on record.

In Relanges, in the Vosges, the château de Lichecourt retains the look of a fortified residence built in the 15th century by a family of glassmaking gentlemen originally from Bohemia. The complex combines a sandstone main building flanked by two towers of unequal height, a pavilion housing a seigneurial chapel, and the Thysac glassmaker's house attached to its walls. The façades still show the marks of successive rebuildings, from the Thirty Years' War through 18th century alterations to the north tower's 19th century neo-Gothic heightening.
