Standing on a rise above the Limargue countryside, between the Padirac chasm and Rocamadour, Saignes castle overlooks its village from the site of a medieval stronghold. The La Garde family, one of whose members served as an extraordinary ambassador of King Francis I, owned the estate from the late 14th century and carried out major restoration work in the 16th century. The visit takes in the rooms of the seigneurial residence, from the banquet hall to the guard room, up to the machicolations, along with stained glass windows made by Léo Amery de Martel.
