What the French Ministry of Culture records
A partir d'un premier manoir, l'édification d'un grand corps de logis est entreprise entre 1610 et 1620. En 1738, construction d'une aile basse sur l'alignement du corps principal, et adjonction de deux tourelles en encorbellement, dont l'une a été détruite en 1972. L'intérieur est orné de lambris Louis XV. Une voûte permet la communication des deux parties du parc au-dessus de la route. En 1628, Richelieu aurait séjourné dans ce château à son retour du siège de La Rochelle.
