What the French Ministry of Culture records
La terre fut acquise en 1492 par Jacques Hurault, trésorier de France sous Louis XII, constructeur de la partie centrale de l'édifice actuel, qu'il fit agrandir par la suite. Le bâtiment présente, sur sa façade nord-ouest, une tour polygonale contenant une vis de pierre, ouverte par une porte surmontée d'une accolade à crochets et fleurons, accostée de pinacles. Le manoir fut, quelques années plus tard, prolongé au nord-est par un bâtiment de même élévation, avec tourelle à son angle nord, et du côté sud-ouest par un pavillon formant une courte aile en retour, accompagnée d'une tour carrée à son angle sud. Vers 1840-1850, un bâtiment prolonge le château au sud-ouest, accompagné de tourelles. L'ancien logis est entouré d'un jardin paysager constitué dès 1829. Les bâtiments de communs disparaissent pour la plupart, à l'exception de la maison du jardinier. D'autres apparaissent telle la chapelle de style troubadour, consacrée en 1842.
