Standing on a rise in the Lot-et-Garonne countryside, the château de Monteton takes the form of a U-shaped manor flanked by two wings, reached by a ramp crossing a dry moat. The arrow-slits and remains of a drawbridge still visible tell a particular story: that of a Protestant family who kept its faith while outwardly converting after the revocation of the Edict of Nantes. Held by the Digeon de Monteton family for more than two centuries, the estate fell into neglect before being partly restored.
