Bastide fondée en 1270 par Alphonse de Poitiers. Château inclus dans la fortification de la bastide. Demeure adossée au rempart nord, à l'intérieur de l'enceinte urbaine. Intégralité du château transformée en musée depuis 1963. Logis reconstruit au 19e siècle.
