What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le château est constitué de deux édifices joints, d'époques différentes (16e et 18e siècle). Le plus ancien remplace lui-même un édifice antérieur. Il se compose d'un bâtiment rectangulaire flanqué de deux tours rondes. Le bâtiment plus récent lui est accolé, formant un angle important. L'aile en retour d'équerre date également de la fin du 18e siècle et est percée, en son centre, d'un porche. Ce dernier est formé d'un arc en plein cintre, cantonné de demi colonnes géminées qui soutiennent un entablement décoré de triglyphes supportant une corniche sur laquelle reposent quatre pilastres cannelés. Un fronton triangulaire les surmonte. Cette aile est prolongée au sud par un bâtiment annexe du 18e siècle, auquel est accolée une tour qui servait de pigeonnier. L'agencement des pièces intérieures est représentatif du 18e siècle. A cette époque, le jardin semble avoir fait l'objet d'aménagements importants dont témoignent un certain nombre de fabriques. Le moulin à eau, dit de Gièvre, de la fin du 18e siècle, se présente sous la forme d'une fabrique chinoise. Le mécanisme a été entièrement conservé.
