What the French Ministry of Culture records

Le nom d'Avisé apparaît pour la première fois en 1212, mais il n'est fait mention de la seigneurie qu'au milieu du 15e siècle avec Raymond de Dezest, tailleur du roi Charles VIII, puis valet de chambre du roi, maître d'hôtel du Dauphin, conseiller du roi et bailli d'Amboise. Le manoir se compose de deux corps de logis perpendiculaires avec, dans leur angle rentrant, une tour polygonale d'escalier. La tour s'ouvre par une porte surmontée d'un gâble gothique très saillant, orné de choux. La chapelle est située au rez-de-chaussée de la grande aile orientale, et conserve des traces de peinture murale du 16e siècle. Cet ensemble témoigne d'une architecture domestique du 15e siècle.
