What the French Ministry of Culture records

Ancien fief relevant du château d'Amboise, érigé en châtellenie en 1631. Le château fut construit à la fin du 15e siècle, et agrandi au 16e. L'aile orientale des communs date de 1765, et fut remaniée vers 1850. L'édifice comprend un corps de logis du 15e, éclairé par des lucarnes à gâbles garnis de crochets et amortis par des fleurons. La façade principale est accompagnée d'une tour d'escalier polygonale, terminée par un étage carré. Le bâtiment central a été prolongé au 16e siècle, à l'est et à l'ouest, de deux bâtiments. Le bâtiment ouest fut, à la même époque, relié par un corps de logis à une aile de communs du 16e siècle. Cette aile est coupée par une large porte en arc surbaissé, accostée de pilastres sculptés, ouverte dans un pavillon faisant saillie sur les façades et donnant accès à la cour des communs. Celle-ci est limitée à l'est par une aile de 1765. Aux angles sud-est, nord-est et nord-ouest des communs subsistent des tourelles du 16e siècle. A l'angle nord-ouest de la cour d'honneur se trouve une chapelle du 17e siècle. Une tour d'échauguette du 16e siècle subsiste à la porte sud du parc.
